Vietnam Day in Switzerland is held online for the first time

During the “Vietnam Day in Switzerland 2021”, the audiences will have the opportunity to interact with top artists and athletes and listen to their experiences with Vietnamese traditional culture and cuisine along with Vietnam’s natural landscape and its people.

The “Vietnam Day in Switzerland 2021” – an important event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Switzerland (October 11, 1971 – October 11, 2021) – will be held for the first time. The event will be held online and broadcast on social media platforms from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM (GMT 7+) on October 9th 2021.

This is an event that belongs in the Vietnam Days Abroad Program, approved by the Prime Minister. The “Vietnam Day in Switzerland 2021” is honoured to welcome many popular “ambassadors” such as representatives Leader of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Switzerland Ambassador to Vietnam Ivo Sieber, Vietnam Ambassador to Switzerland Le Linh Lan, Ambassador – Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, World Trade Organization (WTO) and other international organizations in Geneva Le Thi Tuyet Mai, Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Switzerland Philipp Rosler (former Deputy Prime Minister of Germany, former Minister of Economy and Trade) German technology)…

During the event, the audiences will also have the opportunity to interact with top artists and athletes and listen to their experiences about the traditional culture, cuisine, and natural scenery and people of Vietnam.

This is also an opportunity for typical intellectuals and entrepreneurs such as Ms Nguyen Thi Hien, former Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts; FPT Telecom President Hoang Nam Tien, Director of VinAI Research Institute Bui Hai Hung; MindX CEO Nguyen Thi Thu Ha… shares their journey in helping Vietnam develop stronger.   

In addition, Lawyer Pierre Schifferli – who has lived and worked in Ho Chi Minh City since the 1970s – and a few Swiss tourists will also share their memories when staying in Vietnam and the development of Vietnamese – Switzerland relation which has lasted half a century.

The Vietnam Day in Switzerland program in 2021 will include 5 main parts: Hello Switzerland! Hello Europe!; Origin culture; miraculous Vietnam; Future generations; See you in Vietnam.

Through unique art performances, impressive videos and many interesting sharings from the guests, the audience will not only be introduced to the lively and close relationship between Vietnam and Switzerland over the past 50 years but also discover the unique beauty, culture and people of the two countries. Via the online platform, the audience can also interact with the program to have the most authentic and interesting experience.

Following Vietnam Day in Switzerland in 2021, Vietnam Day in the US 2021 will be held in November this year, in order to contribute to promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation opportunities in all fields between Vietnam and America.

Vietnam Day Abroad is an annual national promotion program assigned by the Prime Minister to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2010.

Vietnam Day in Switzerland in 2021 will take place simultaneously at 3 bridge points: the studio of Vietnam Television Station, the Embassy of Vietnam in Switzerland, the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations, the WTO and other international organizations in Geneva.
